1. Osteoporosis is a medical condition where bones become weaker and breaks easily. The causes for osteoporosis are hyperparathyroidism in the blood levels, cigarette smoking, family history, small body stature, low calcium diet, low testosterone and estrogen levels in males and females, etc.

The symptoms of osteoporosis are - easy fracture leads to pain, back pain, reduced height, bending posture.

2. Rickets is a condition which occurs in children due to deficiency of vitamin D in the diet of children and also deficiency of calcium and phosphorous. It affects in the small children and in the growing bones ages of children. The children who are affected with rickets have the symptoms of bow legs, decreased growth, pain, sleep disturbances. Rickets can be treated by sufficient intake of vitamin D diet, calcium and phosphorous. The major source of vitamin D is available from sunlight.
