Clinicians will bring their tongue tip up to touch their alveolar ridge and tongue tip down bring it towards bottom of teeth.

Advantages

children at the age of 6 or 7 has the rapid orofacial growth.The increasing motion of tongue may allow the child to position tongue in the palate .This positioning will help the palate to shape very well and reduce orthodontic difficulties that may lead to low tongue posture

Disadvantages

During this stage there is a change occur from baby teeth to permanent teeth.younger children may have difficulty with identifying where a sound is in the word .

1. A tongue depressor is placed just behind the patients upper or lower front teeth .

2.Ask the patient to use his tongue tip to hold it
