Health care Centres are community based patient directed organization that delivers comprehensive, culturally competent primary, preventive, emergency health care services to nation's most vulnerable individual and families which is located in medically underserved areas which is served my primary care clinicians from National Health Services Corps.

Grants and resources of US Dept of health and human services are disbursed through Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) which provides grants to four types of Federal Health Centres (FHC) as follows:1. Community Health Centres (CHC) 2.Health Centre for Homeless 3. Health Centres for Homeless 4. Health Centres for migrants.

The services provided by the FHC and CHC includes immunization, family planning, prenatal care, preventive dental care, mental health services, substance abuse treatment, diabetes self management training etc. These services are linked with Medicare, Medicaid, third party insurance company and private organization for funding. Fees from the patient is tekn on basis of their income. Incase of income less than 100 percent of Federal poverty level, the patients pay a nominal fee whereas patients with 200 percent of Federal poverty level pay the full fee for the service availed
