Physician- patient privilege

Physician- patient privilage is a type of particular benefit or advantage for both physician and patient related to the disclosure of patient's information. It is a legal aspect that ensures the confidentiality of patient information by doctor. Physician - patient privilege law varies from states to state.

Doctors are privileged to not to appear before the court from testifying against the patient with the Physician - patient privilege. Also patients will be confident enough to sek medical help in case of any unusual medical conditions such as gun shot injury, teen pregnancy etc.

When it is used: In case of any unusual medical conditions such as AIDS, gun shot, abuse etc. Doctors have the right to reject the subpoena to testify against a patient. Only in the case of a danger to patient's life or other's life Doctors can break the confidentiality. With the Physician - patient privilege law patients are protected and the related history and information also safe.
