When pediatric blood sample is collecting, you should be very careful.

When collecting the sample do the following:-

  • Select the appropriate site. Select a prominent superficial site.
  • Immobilization:- if the baby is kicking, moving immobilize the baby with restraints.
  • Psychological support:- explain the procedure to the baby in their own understandable words. Make them know about how long the procedure.
  • Offer the parents or guardians to stay with the child. So that the child feels secure.
  • If the parents afraid of their child get stuck better them to off staying.
  • As the child is crying divert them with playing objects and say some word that gives trust on you.
