Carrie, age 75, is a patient on the psychiatric unit with a diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder. She says to the nurse, "I never knew my life would end up like this. I've lost my husband, all my friends, and my home." How would the nurse respond appropriately to this statement by Carrie? And why?

While Mrs. Carrie said to nurse something more annoying and deep sadness from her heart, the nurse has a role to answer properly while she facing this situation.
