PTT activated test

It is referred as partial thromboplastin time test

Patient preparation: it is advised to clean the preferred site like arm with the alcohol swab to insert the needle into vein


Preferred specimen: Platelet-free plasma.

Preferred storage container: blue-top sodium citrate tube

Transport temperature: frozen

Storage: frozen: -20°C for 30 days

Clinical significance: to access blood clots and the study of the coagulation factors as well as effect of heparin as anticoagulant system

Albumin test

Albumin test determines the amount of albumin in blood serum

Patient preparation: it is advised to be on fasting means not to eat and drink for several hours before test


Preferred specimen: Plasma or Serum

Preferred storage container: yellow-top plasma separator tube

Transport temperature: frozen

Store at refrigerated temperatures
