4. cbc w/diff test

Complete blood count test to assess the RBC, WBC, hemoglobin, platelets and hematocrit

Patient preparation: The patient is advised to give blood normally until the fasting is not required

Preferred specimen: Whole blood

Transport container: Lavender: 4.0 mL K2 EDTA

Temperature: room temperature

Clinical significance: to test anaemia and leukemia

5. PT w/INR test

It is referred as prothrombin time and international normalized ratio test for the assessment of the blood clotting time

Patient preparation: The patient is advised to give blood normally until the fasting is not required

Preferred specimen: platelet free plasma

Transport container: 2.7 mL blue-top tube containing 3.2% sodium citrate

Temperature: room temperature till 24 hors and above that in frozen temperature

Clinical significance: to test bleeding disorders as well as clotting disorders, monitoring of blood thining and blood clotting medication therapy
