Case Study Sriah's mother tells the home health nurse that her mother-in-law came to visit during her seventh month of pregnancy and remains with them to "help with the baby." She states that her mother-in-law is very concerned that Sriah is not getting enough nutrition with the breastfeeding and repeatedly tells her son and daughter that Sriah should be on formula. Sriah is frequently fussy after eating, and her grandmother states that the breastfeeding is responsible for Sriah's discomfort and Sriah's father is not supportive about the breastfeeding, agreeing with his mother. 1. Sriah 's parents opinion is not appreciable. Because the discomfort of the mother during post natal period is common. In order to get adequate nutrients the breast milk is necessary for the baby and it is best food for the baby. Formula feed is an artificial form of milk where the baby cannot get adequate immunity from it.

2. During the 37th week, the average weight gain of the baby is 2.9 kg and in the 38th week it will be 3.1 kg. Baby will attain 3.3 kg at 39th week and during the 40th week it will increase to 3.5 kg.

During this case study, the didn't attained adequate birth weight as she had 2.3 kg. During the third trimester, the baby will gain at least 200gm in each week. After three weeks of birth the baby gained only 300gm. According to the weight gain scale, the baby should attained minimum of 2.9 kg.
