Prescribed cefprozil 0.5 gms per oral 12th hourly

Available on hand is 125 mg/5 ml

0.5 gms = 500 mg (multiply grams with 1000 to get milligrams)

The volume required = required dose \times available volume \div available dose

                           = 500 mg \times 5 ml \div 125 mg

                           = 20 ml

The nurse should administer 20 ml of cefprozil orally
