Informed consent refers to the healthcare professional's (Provider, surgeons, Anesthetist ,etc.,) explanation or description about a procedure,treatment, surgery blood transfusion, medication ,in relation to patient care in advance or prior in the language the patient and relative best understands.

Or

Informed consent refers to a complete information about any treatment or procedure by a health-care professional to patient. The patiwnt is aware of its benefits and risks and signs the consent in sound mind.

  • It is very important document to be keep confidential things of a patient.
  • It can be used in when any legal issues arises between patient and healthcare professional and hospital
  • As an evidence that the person who signed it was in sound mind and understood and accepted in regards to the procedure or treatment to be done on them.
