  • Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) is created by the Executive Order, and it mainly aims at the widespread facilitation of the HER implementation in the United States
  • The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) was enacted on 2009, which is otherwise known as the “Economic Stimulus Package.” Its primary purpose is to promote economic recovery. The bill provides approximately $31 billion for the infrastructure of healthcare services and electronic health record (EHR) system investment. The ARRA sections that pertain to healthcare are together called as the “Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act.
