Answer: The barriers in the healthcare delivery that affect the quality of healthcare communication are:

  • Cultural differences: Due to cultural differences, the interaction between patients and healthcare professionals cause problem. So, it is necessary to provide cultural competence environment to the patients so that can easily express their feelings and problems.
  • Inability to express: Some of the patients are unable to express their main problem to the healthcare professionals due to various reasons such as due to shyness, depression etc. In this case, the healthcare professionals requires to encourage the patient and make them understand the importance of their involvement in reporting the problem properly.
  • Effective communication: Due to lack of effective communication, the healthcare professionals and patients are unable to understand eachother. Then gap of communication occurs which may lead to serious problems. The healthcare professionals should explain the patient in a more effective and should use easy language so that the patient can easily understand.
