#. Step 1: Create Urgency

- examine opportunities

- start honest discussion, and give dynamic convincing reasons

- request support from customers and outside stakeholders

#. Step 2: Form a powerful coalition

- convince people that change is necessary- takes a strong leader

- identify a key leader and stakeholders

- ask for commitment

- work on team building

- check your team for weak areas and make sure you have a good mix

- get a lot of ideas and solutions floating around

- create a clear vision for everyone to understand

- determine your values

- develop a short summary- capture your thoughts for the future
