Answer #1

ANSWER.

a) Calculation of volume of fluid delivered.

         Ordered dose = 20 ml/kg.

Weight of the child = 14 kg.

So

        Fluid required for a child weight 14 kg = 20 * 14

                                                                     = 280 ml.

b) Flow rate.

        Formula

Flow rate = Total volume(ml) / Time (hr).

     Here

           Total volume(ml) = 280 ml.

                    Time (hr) = 0.5 hr (30 min).

   As per above formula

              Flow rate (ml/hr) = 280 / 0.5

                                          = 560 ml/hr.
