Health care is a broad sector with multiple professionals and healthcare providers being the most trusted professionals when compared to others. They may lose staff privelages in the following scenarios

  • Misbehaviour or misconduct with the fellow or colleagues
  • Providing a low quality of care which is below the standard and could potentially harm the patient
  • Lack of knowledge in regards to the hospital's rules and regulations, policies, protocols and when not abiding to it
  • Treating a patient beyond their expertise or with inadequate knowledge and experience
  • if prescribing a medication against necessity or not getting the right approval or authority to prescribe an unorthodox drug to a patient can lead to loss of staff privilege
  • When a provider delays or doesn't provide information at the required time
  • If a provider doesn't follows the hospital's agreement.

Hence when a health care provider when sued for the above reasons loses their staff privelages.
