* Hereditary spherocytosis is characterized by formation of abnormal sphere

shaped red blood cells due to genetic defects in the RBC.

* It results in destruction of abnormal shaped RBCs which are passing through

the spleen leads to hemolytic anemia.

B) So nurse should prepare the patient for Splenectomy or surgical removal of spleen

to manage this condition.
