Answer #1

ANSWER.

3) Calculation of mg of drug should administer in each dose.

            Ordered dose = 300 mg / day.

Frequency of administration of each dose = Equal doses every 8 hrly/day.

                                                                            = 24 hr/q8hrly

                                                                            = 3 times a day.

mg of drug should administer in each dose = 300 / 3

                                                                        = 100 mg per dose.

4) Calculation of drops per min.

          Formula

            Drops per min(gtt/min) = Volume(ml) /Time(min) * Drop factor.

     Here

            Volume(ml) = 500 ml.

             Time(min) = 480 min (8hr).

             Drop factor = 15 gtt/ml.

    As per above formula

            Drops per min = 500 / 480 * 15

                                     = 1.04 * 15

                                     = 15.6 gtt/min.
