If we have to administer i/v infusion of 1000ml over 8 hours with a drip set of 60drops/ml- we have to give 125drops/minute.

Explanation-

1000ml over 8hours = 1000 ml over 480 minutes = 1000÷480 ml/minute=2.083 ml/minute.

Further , we have a drip set of 60drops/ ml , therefore for 2.083 ml/minute - 60× 2.083 drops/min = 125 drops/minute.
