Answer #1

Given,
Order: 2 L of IV fluid over a 24 hours period with 1/2 of this amount to be infused in the first 10 hours of treatment.
So, during the first 10 hours nurse give = 1/2 of 2 L
= 1/2 ×2 L
=1 L

Now, 1 L = 1000 ml
So, 1000 ml IV fluid to be infused in the first 10 hour.
Infusion time =10 hours
Infusion rate (ml/hr) = volume of IV fluid in ml/infusion time in hr
=1000 ml/10 hr
=100 ml/hr
Therefore, 100 ml/hr will the nurse administer during the first 10 hours of the infusion.
