Ascribed status is a status that is gained by birth itself. The status that is assigned based on the individual's age, sex, religion, tradition. Ascribed status is given to the individual by society. This type of status gives respect to the individual in society, so they mingle very easily within their society.
e.g In some part of the Asian countries, The individual status is assigned based on the caste system. Brahmin get higher status in society than other castes.

Achieved Status:
Achieved status is gained through the individual hard work and it may change according to the situation. It is obtained through the individual skills and abilities. The individual may attain a position or designation in society and needs hard work to maintain a position in society.
