Two SMART goals for substance abuse:
1) Overcoming addiction
2) Addiction Treatment
Recovery from substance abuse can feel overwhelming.
After abusing alcohol/ drugs for significant period of time, it takes a while to achieve a true sense of sanity and stability.
Recovery should be top priority but in the early first year period many of the people feel stressful to follow and even have a thought to leave the goal one day.
1) Overcoming obstacles
The idea of weight loss, quitting smoking, getting out of debt, saving money, changing jobs. These are some of the goals.
Stressful feeling, confusion, again addicting are some of the obstacles that need to be left before attempt to tackle any goals.
2) Addiction Treatment
Before starting the treatment some short term and long term goals are to be set by the individual. So that the can overcome the Addiction relapse.
Short term goals like attaining the treatment for over a period of time regularly and following the interventions.
