Answer #1

ANSWER.

Question 13.

    * Calculation of ml/hr.

            ml/hr = Volume(ml) /Time(hr).

     Calculation of volume(ml).

             Formula = Desired dose(D) /Dose in hand (H) * Quantity(Q).

     Here

          Ordered dose= 3mcg/kg/min.

       Convert mcg to mg for calculation

                   1 mcg = 0.001 mg

        So

            Ordered dose = 0.001 * 3

                                    = 0.003 mg.

            Weight of the patient = 70 kg.

                Desired dose (D) = 0.003 * 70

                                             = 0.21 mg.

                 Dose in hand (H) = 800 mg.

                      Quantity(Q) = 250 ml.

   As per above formula for volume(ml).

                  Volume(ml) = D/H * Q

                                      = 0.21/800 * 250

                                      = 0.0003 * 250

                                      = 0.075 ml.

                    Time = 1 min.

     Convert ml/min to ml/hr by multiply with 60.

                 ml/hr = 0.075 * 60

                       = 4.5 ml.
