Answer: The patient- clinician relationship is a modified version of doctor- patient relationship as patient is treated by the healthcare professionals. The healthcare professionals includes physician, dentist, physical therapist etc. So, for this the term has been set as patient - clinician relationship.

For ethically successful patient- clinician relationship there is requirement that the clinician understand the need of the patient. The clinician should provides quality of care along with the cultural competence environment. The clinician should reduce the medical errors. Ethics is required in the field of healthcare to promote the health of the patients.

Beside manner in context of the patient - clinician relationship as the healthcare professionals have specific style of communication with the patient. It is important to have effective communication with the patient. Bedise this, the healthcare professionals have manner and use communication style that bring out betterment in the patient's health. The lack of compassion in the patient- clinician relationship causes adverse impression on the patient.

The expectations varies from degree of the healthcare professionals. The primary care physician assess the patient's health and treatment. The patient expectations with the primary care physician is increased as they want to get treated. Whereas, Surgeons are considered to be superior so, patient have more trust on them.
