Ventricular assist device, a mechanical device implanted for the patients with altered cardiac function. This mechanical circulatory support device helps the heart in pumping mechanism there by maintaining the blood flow to the vital organs.

2) Right Ventricular assist device (RVAD): it pumps blood when the pumping muscles of the heart becomes weak. RVAD helps the right ventricles to pump blood from right ventricle into pulmonary artery and into the lungs. The main source of the device is implanted into the body and pump connected to a tube is placed outside the abdomen.

3) Bi ventricular assist device: It is an assistive device that is implanted in both the chambers of the heart. BIVAD helps the heart to work during and after the surgical procedure. It is considered as a permanent measures to treat heart failure. The major risks for surgery includes infection,bleeding,device failure,renal failure,endocarditis.
