She is diagnosed with a viral infection and given education on supportive treatment. She calls the clinic later that day after going home explaining to you that she really needs an antibiotic as she has finals next week and cannot afford to be sick. Drugs can be given to get relief of symtoms like antipyretics if there is fever but antibiotics can be given as it is not bacterial infection.
