Answer #1

Review of system and physical examination are the certain sets of method used to assess and diagnose the health and medical condition of the individual by the health care professionals. Both Review of system and Physical examination are used to gain the objective and subjective information about client particular body system.

Although they are used for some similar purpose, there is some distinction between Review of System and Physical examination. Following are the certain important difference between these two techniques,

  • In the Review of system , the HCP only uses questions to find out information about the system, but in physical examination the HCP uses certain devices or techniques to find the data. For example while assessing Gastro intestinal system the HCP auscultate the abdomen to find the condition but in Review of system they merely ask qustions and gain the data.
  • Physical Examination involves some physical contact with the client in some system but in Review of system wont involves any kind of physical contact.
  • Review of system is easy to assess and gain data, but in physical examination it involves some to find out the positive or negative signs of the body system.
