Answer #1

ANSWER.

8) Calculation of time(hrs) for the IV to finish

        Flow rate(gtt/min) = Volume(ml) / Time(min) * Drop factor.

    So

          Time(min) = Volume(ml) / Flow rate(gtt/min) * Drop factor.

Here

        Volume(ml) = 250 ml.

        Flow rate(gtt/min) = 19 gtt/min.

        Drop factor = 60 gtt/ml (microdrop set = 60 gtt/ml)

As per above formula

             Time(min) = 250 / 19 * 60

                              = 13.16 * 60

                              = 789.6 min

Infusion time (hr) calculated by divide time(min) to 60 min.

                Infusion time(hr) = 789.6 / 60

                                           = 13 hours 16 min.
