1)Korsakoff syndrome is caused due to severe prolonged deficiency of vitamin B1(thiamine),usually seen in alcoholics.Its main symptoms are confusion,difficulty in vision and confabulation (honest lying),I.e. the person fls in the gaps in the memory by stories but does not realise it.It is usually preceded by Wernicke encephalopathy when it should be treated by parenteral administration of thiamine.
