In your own words, how does a domain model differ from a design model?

And, since one Agile principle is to do only the documentation that is necessary (stay lean), how is doing a domain model a justified use of time?

A domain model provides the visual representation of the classes within the domain. No actual behavior is contained in any domain model.

It contains a concept class which contains/represents the classes as well as their relationships.

In the design model, the address book will create a new entry as well as display existing entry. These contain the actual interactions.

As the domain model contains the functional classes for designing the data model and also it helps to represent the relationship without any technical code in actual terms but allows interaction hence is is justified use of time.
