ID : Streptococcus pneumoniae

It causes Pneumonia, a major lower respiratory tract infection. They are Gram positive diplococci. During Incubation it shows Alpha haemolysis on Blood agar or Chocolate agar and are Optochin sensitive, catalase negative.
