Yes, talent management is a necessary process when we need to consider the long term strategic inclination of a company's HR department and how the process of recruitment and hiring plays into their understanding if this aspect. We need to consider that talent management requires the knowledge of future planning, anticipation, preparedness, and foresight, creating value to the process of recruitment where the company selects the individuals to hire based on their growth potential and the HRM should focus on consistent talent selection mechanisms to get the right people for the job and to have the required skills onboard before the need becomes severe. The role of talent management is, therefore, to provide a set of guiding principles over which the criteria, evaluation scheme, and hiring decisions would depend.
