Answer #1

Permute -By-Sorting---It is very ineffective algorithm for sorting an array. It simply permute its inputs until a sorted output is obtained.

Pseudo Code

while not sorted (list)

do{

shuffle(list)

}

Shuffle (list)

{

A for loop[i to length of array]

swap(array[i],array(rand()%n)]

}

b.

Time Complexity--->

1.Worst case is O(infinity) as if after many random permutation array is not sorted

2.Average Case O(n*n!) means n times we are making n! no. of permutation to get a sorted array

3.Best Case O(n) ---if given array is already sorted .

Q2 What is role of function Random(i,n) not mentioned

    Consider an array A[1...n] which is originally unsorted. One method to sort the array is as follows: First find the largest key in the unsorted portion of the array (initially the entire array s unsorted) and swap this with the last position in the unsorted section. This last position is now considered part of the sorted portion. The procedure is repeated until the entire array is sorted. (a) Write an algorithm to sort A as outlined above (in pseudo-code, no...

    Hello I need help with this program. Should programmed in C! Program 2: Sorting with Pointers Sometimes we're given an array of data that we need to be able to view in sorted order while leaving the original order unchanged. In such cases we could sort the data set, but then we would lose the information contained in the original order. We need a better solution. One solution might be to create a duplicate of the data set, perhaps make...

    Suppose you have an array S indexed from 1 to n which contains n numbers, not in any particular order, and you wish to count how many times a given number x occurs in S. Consider the recursive algorithm below for this which finds the number of occurrences of x in the index range i...j in S. Of course, solving the problem would involve an initial call to the algorithm for the range 1.n: int CountOccur (int i,j) { int...
