1.The nurse should enquire the patient how he feels after taking the medicine and whether she felt any side effects She should also ask the patient how often she takes the medicine and whether she felt relieved after taking medication .The nurse also enquires whether she is taking the medication along with other herbal supplements or medications.

2.Over-the-countee medications are intended to treat short-term illnesses and symptoms and when this medicines are taken over a long period of time. It can lead to a number of adverse effects and leads to a worsening of a disease.

3.patient education include

  • It delays treatment of serious and life threatening disorders.
  • Relieve symptoms without necessarily addressing the cause of the disorder.
  • Use of OTC drugs may delay patients from seeking medical care until they are very ill.
  • They can be hazardous to patients with chronic illnesses such as Diabetes, Enlarged prostate and hypertension.

All OTC medicine must contain the following warning such as do not use product if allergic to ingredients, pregnancy, breast feeding. Keep the product and all medicine out of reach of children.
