1. The heterotrophic bacteria depends upon other organisms for food to survive. Thet can't prepare their own food.

Advantages

​​​​​​. If the ancestral cell having a heterotrophic bacterium as an endosymbiotic, evolution may further results a heterotrophic organism. It had heterotrophic mode of nutrition.

2. In photosynthetic bacteria, the mode of nutrition is autotrophic. It can produce it's own food.

​​​​​​. If the ancestral cell having a photosynthetic bacterium as an endosymbiotic, the evolution may results a photosynthetic organism. It had the ability to do photosynthesis. If the pigments present in the organism is capable of doing photosynthesis efficiently, it can produce it's own food.
