In research area, everyone should try to analyze the past work done on the research topic selected by the researchers in a particular subject /domain of the social science research. It has wider scope in the field of classical and even modern methods of research design. Generally, it will be required in qualitative research methods. In a nut shell, it chronologically shows the development of literature on a particular research topic. As a chapter, it must be included in a detail thesis or research publication.

Literature review shapes one’s understanding about a particular research field (Arshed Norin , Danson Mike 2015). It makes clarity on large body of information, identifying research gaps and systematic review promoting the research knowledge (Petticrew and Roberts, 2006, p. 2). .A research method will involve the following six steps in conducting the literature review ( Templier , Pare , 2015) are Framing the research questions, searching the extant of literature, Screening to include the specific information, Assessment of quality to primary studies, refining the data and analyzing the same.
