Answer #1

1) Workshop and Control groups are independent. Since 5 different randomly selected people are put into both the groups, and the groups are independent, to perform the test we can use an independent samples t test for the population means.

2) Let 1: Workshop, 2: Control. Now, we are testing,

H0: u1=u2 vs H1: u1>u2

Under H0,

(low N nito,2 + 2 na 73.2 n = 62.8. 5. = 5.070 S226.611. 1, 250 ₂-5 : Test Statistic: 7312-6218 5.072 6.6112 V 5 5 * = 2.791

HW+#10 HW #10 - Chapter 19 (20pts for turned in on time) There are two types of INFERENCES about the populations, Confidence intervals and hypothesis test. 2 sample t test is a very common statistical tool when you want to compare two population means. For any hypothesis test, you will always have the same 5 steps in procedures: (1) State hypothesis (2) State rejection rule (3) Calculate statistic and find p value (4) Apply rejection rule and (5) Conclusion. Please...

HW#9 - Chapter 18 (20pts for turned in on time) 1. (16pts, 2pts each)In most of the practical problems, we don't know population standard deviation. Sot test is much more useful than z test, since it doesn't require a known population standard deviation. For the following scenario, please provide the appropriate p value (keep in mind that p-value is always dependent on the alternative hypothesis Ha). 2Upts Tor turned in on time 4. (16pt JThere is evidence that cytotonic T lymphocytes (T cels) participate in controling tumor growth and that they can be harnessed to use the body's immune system to treat cancer. One study investigated the use of T cell-engaging antibody, blinatumomab, to recruilt T cells to control tumor growth. Oe important factor in the research is to see whether T cell will be growing by the use of blinatumomab. The data below are T...

HW # 10-Chapter 19 (20pts for turned in on time) (21pts)"Durable press" cotton fabrics are treated to improve their recovery from wrinkles after washing. Unfortunately, the treatment also reduces the strength of the fabric. There are two commercial processes for durable press: Permafresh and Hylite. A study wants to show if those 4. two processes will reduces the strength of the fabric in the same extent. Here are some data in terms of pull (in pounds) needed to tear the...
