3. What are 2 observations or experiments that could be conducted in order to determine if or how density-dependence was acting on a population? How would you interpret the results? 4. Population growth of plants that seed just once a year, ungulate mammals such as elk that have a distinct breeding season, and anadromous fish that reproduce during discrete time periods can be modeled using geometric growth. Which other organisms can you think of whose population growth could be accurately described using the geometric growth model, and why would that model be better than exponential growth for those organisms?

Density dependent factors such as competetion, parasitism, disease , availibility of food and sunlight, availibility of mate, area and predation etc. these following factors can limit or restrict the growth of the population. As increase in population also simultaneously increases the adverse effect of these density dependednt factors. Density dependent factors influence competetion for various availibilities with in the species and sometimes these competetions are very intense as well.
