SHA1 uses hash function.

  • It is one way cryptography
  • Hash functions uses no Key as plain text is can't be derived using cipher text.
  • Plaintext\overset{hash~function}{\rightarrow}Ciphertext
  • it gives 160-bit hash value.
  • Therefore, SHA1 doesn't require any public keys.

Algorithms which uses public key cryptography (PKC) such as RSA needs public keys.
