Burns are considered critical if :

  • There are third degree burns on face, hands and feet


- The percentage of burns can be determined by rule of nine.
- First degree burns are never considered critical.
- If large area of body (more than 25%) has second degree burns it is considered critical.
- If there are third degree burns on face, hands and feet or there is 10% third degree burns, it is considered critical.
