the energy to manufacture ATP come from electron transport chain in light reaction.

light reactions occur in thylakoid membrane as it contain the photosystem I&II . during light the photolysis of water occur which result in electron , electron passes accross the photosystem I &II and result in reduction of NADPH.

proton gradient develop across the membrane result in synthesis of ATP.

this ATP is utilised in fixation of carbon dioxide to synthesize glucose in the calvin cycle ( dark reactions ) in the stroma of the chloroplast .
