Ossicles in echinoderms are small calcareous elements embedded in dermis of body wall .They form part of endoskeleton and provides rigidity and protection.They are found in different arrangements and forms in sea urchin,sea cucumber,sea stars,sea dollars and many other.

So we can divide echinoderms into two groups one having fused ossicles and other having seperate ossicles.Their mode of movement and feeding habit are given below:-
