1.The assessment should also focus on swelling of lymphnode around neck to rule out any ear infections

Any recent cold or flu attacks

2.The symptoms like fever 101°F,sore throat,headache, redden and inflamed white patches if tonsils and pharyn,mucus drainage from nose suggests Strep throat which is an other form of pharyngitis

3.The most likely diagnosis are tonsilitis,infectious mononucleosis ,oral thrush which also has similar symptom bubthe flu like symptoms (mucus discharge from nose) suggests it could be strep throat of pharyngitis

4.a swab test of the throat is done which is called Rapid strep test which can give results in less than 20 minutes.

Throat culture can take a couple of days for getting report

Physical examination

5.The main treatment strategy for this is starting with antibiotics, symptomatic treatment, preventing cross infection, strict infection control practices, use of PPE,encouraging the patient to close the mouth if coughing or sneezing,preventing complications by early treatment, avoid sharing things among other students,preferably staying at home is advised in these cases

6.Antibiotics will be started immediately when strep throat is identified to prevent long term complications like Rheumatic fever,glomerulonephritis, abscess formation behind tonsils.
