(Their conclusions were based on the data that found the same three amino ac- ids-proline, alanine, and valine-at the same positions in the PTC gene from chimpanzee, lowland gorilla, and orangutan.) Is their conclusion valid (why or why not)? How did the non-taster allele arise?

Truly their decision is legitimate, since PAV area is ration since chimpanzee in PTC quality. Because of present of PAV allele in heterozygous or homozygous state lead to the variety in PTC tasting capacity.

In non tester AVI allele is available in homozygous condition. This lead to non tasting PTC. This PAV and AVI are a piece of taste receptor.
