In my opinion, it is not ethical for managers to acquire other companies just because other competitors are doing so. This is because confidential data is violated and leaked once the process of acquiring other companies gets underway. Also there are issues such as disclosure of acquisition cost, valuation of acquired company, synergy of resources etc which create challenges and ethical concerns as well. Hence such decisions need to be taken carefully.
