Answer #1

A: Most of the problems we get in rectifier design are because of the capacitors we use. The charging and discharging phenomenon of capacitor create problems in getting the true output. Sometimes we get the output across the capacitor at output more than expected.

B: The reverse recovery of diodes influences the power dissipations in many applications. Sometimes diode having the same ratings can differ in their applications because of manufacturing defects that may change your results.

C: An advantage of the capacitor is that its cheaper than most of the other devices. They have less resistive effects and are less likely to pick up noise.

The disadvantage with the electrolytic capacitor is that they dry out and lose capacitance with age, that may create problem in designing too.
