A) Dilution for tube is 10-3 because dilution of tube A is 10-1 and when 0.1 ml is transferred to tube B, the total dilution will be 10-3.

B) Total dilution is 10-6

Cfu/ml = Number of Colonies /volume transferred x dilution factor

CFU/ml = 5 / 0.1 x 10-6

Cfu/ml = 5 x 10-7
