Explanation: figure 1 has a wrong precedence relationship, A precedes B and F (not B and E). Fig. B and C have the same precedence relationships but different workstation assignments.

Workstation cycle time= production time/production requirement= 400 mins/62= 6.45 mins per unit. Hence the sum of the tasks in a workstation cannot be more than 6.45 mins.

In Fig. 2, workstation has G and H together which cannot be possible as the sum of task times of G and H is 8 mins. Therefore, Fig. 3 is correct.

Explanation:

if the no. of workstation= 5

cycle time= 6.45 mins

Total task time ==1+3+1+4+2+3+2+6+2+3= 27 mins
