A claim is an assumption that something is true, and to prove something to be true the justice requires evidence to form conclusion or judgment.
There are various types of evidence one can produce to prove his claims like 1.Statistical evidence, 2.Testimonial evidence, 3.Anecdotel evidence, 4.Analogical evidence, 5. Circumstantial evidence, 6.Demonstrative evidence, 7. Digital evidence, 8. Direct evidence, 9. Documentary evidence, 10. Forensic evidence, 11. physical evidence, 12.Prima facia evidence, 13.Hearsay evidence, 14. Exculpatory evidence, 15, etc.
There are numbers of evidence that are useful in an organization when an investigator is trying to reach a conclusion in the workplace with respect to an inquiry that can be a non- criminal, or that be non-admissible if presented alone but it can support a claim like anecdotal evidence.
These are the following three pieces of evidence that are permissible in the court of justice
1. Direct evidence: It is the evidence that stands on its own to prove the facts, it requires no inference. There are various types of direct evidence as an eyewitness of a crime. When the witness testimony what he saw directly or experienced it directly.
For example; In case of a crime an eyewitness is one who saw the crime being performed and he was physically present at the crime scene. The description is given by the eyewitness will be taken as the direct evidence because he was physically present at the crime scene and saw the crime happening, clearly, the person has to of sound mind and capable of remembering the incident clearly.
2. Circumstantial evidence: This is different from direct evidence, these are the set of facts when taken together with other direct facts can lead to a concussion, these cannot stand alone as evidence but it can support the other evidence by using logical reasoning. This is also known as indirect evidence because it can lead to more than one conclusion. This evidence is taken as weak evidence that is why it is used in conjunction with the direct evidence to establish the crime in both criminal and civil cases.
For example; Two friends A and B got into a heated argument during the birthday party A declared in front of everyone that he would kill B and after he week B is found murdered in his apartment, The statement by A that was threatening and proving A's intention to kill B can be an indirect or circumstantial evidence. That means A became one of the suspects.
3. Forensic evidence: It is the scientifically used method where the DNA testing, fingerprint matching, footprints, hair, fibers, blood, and other bodily fluids, as well the instruments such as knives, paint, bullets, guns, and or ballistics reports are taken as the evidence to find out the victim (in case the victim is an unknown person) as well the offender It is taken as one of the reliable sources of evidence to convict a criminal, the word forensic means for the court, that means the evidence is for the purpose of justice, these are the hidden evidence that a naked eye cannot see.
For example; In the case of Ted Bundy who was the serial killer, he killed 40 people between 1964 to 1978, his victims were a young attractive woman. He was caught by Forensic Odontologists who matched the bite marks of the victim with his teeth structure. Dr, Souviron matched his teeth structure and the bite marks on the victim's body.
