M1V1 = M2V2

given

M1 = 1.5 M

V1 = 300 ml

M2 = 0.58 M

V2 = ??

plug in the values

1.5 M x 300 ml = 0.58 M x V2

V2 = 775.86 ml

so

amount of water added = V2 - V1

amount of water added = 775.86 - 300 ml

amount of water added = 475.86 ml

so

475.86 ml of water must be added
